Kurumcu Pond

It is 35 km away from Kızılcahamam, 12 km from Anatolian Highway exit of Çeltikçi, 11 km from Kızılcahamam-Güdül Highway and near Kurumcu village. Located on the northern slope of Kurumcu Mountain, the lake is fed by the surrounding spring waters and waterfalls. There are other ponds on Erenler Hill, which is the summit of Kurumcu Mountain, and these ponds can be reached through in-forest roads.

Ahlatlıbel Atatürk Park

Situated on Şehit Savcı Mehmet Selim Kiraz Boulevard at İncek, Ahlatlıbel Atatürk Park contains a grassy area of over 25 thousand square meters and a forest area of 180 thousand square meters. There is also an ecological pond, a carpark, playgrounds for children, a tennis court, an astroturf, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a go-kart track, jogging and walking tracks, a golf course, a bicycle track, a picnic area, cafeterias and an open-air sports field.

Çanıllıdere Valley

Çanıllı Stream, located in the west of Kızılcahamam district centre, is formed by the merging of the streams fed from the slopes of Avar Mountain and merges with the Koca Stream near the district centre. The valley, which descends from the plateau slopes with a little inclination, becomes narrower in Çanlı locality and creates steep slopes. Numerous wild pear, hawthorn and rosehip trees populate the slopes. In the geographically rich valley and the streambed are the settlements of Yukarıbayır, Aşağıbayır, Aşağıçanlı and Koçaklar.

İnönü Caves

The caves in Kirmir Stream Valley near Güdül district centre were carved into settlements in the Byzantine Period.The caves are multi-storied and floors are connected to each other with stairs and caves with corridors. The caves are under protection but there is access to the valley where you can see other caves as well.

Kesikköprü Dam

You can go to Kesikköprü Dam, which is located in the area of Bâlâ district, after passing Gölbaşı on the Ankara-Konya Highway direction, turning from the Beynam Forests sign in the direction of Bala. A beautiful forest road takes you to the reservoir. Some very rare birds live in Beynam Forests. Dam lake is suitable for water sports as well as for swimming. You can try fun sports like surfing, water skiing, and diving. Kesikköprü Dam Lake goes as deep as 29 meters, and it has no bottom mud. The water temperature is 18 degrees in July. There are facilities of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality on the shore of the reservoir. Since there is little wooded area around the lake, it is useful to take a sun umbrella with you to enjoy the lake since the lake beaches can be crowded. There is a kiosk by the lake, but basic needs can be met from Kesikköprü.

Eymir Lake

As a result of floods that occurred when the waters of Mogan Lake rose in 1910, Eymir Village located at the valley of Mogan River and many more settlements in İmrahor and İncesu valleys were submerged. Alluvial deposits coming from rivers situated at the slopes of Elmadağ Mountain made a natural set here and Eymir Lake was formed. The lake is located on the Middle East Technical University property and hosts various bird species. The lake is suitable for nature walks and taking photos: it is possible to rent bikes in the vicinity.

Tulumtaş Cave

It is 15 km away from Ankara, between the villages of İncek Hacılar and Tulumtaş at the Karayatak location. Its total length is 5 km and has a height of 30-40 metres and a width of 1-1,5 metres. The cave and the stalactites in it were found accidentally during a stone quarry excavation and was declared a 1st degree archaeological site by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 1992.

Semerözü

Uluçay Stream, which is fed by the waters of Işık Mountain range and the slopes of Semerözü and Yıldırım Mountain, is the main branch of Devrez Stream in Kızılcahamam. There are Semer and Ortaköy plateaus in Semerozu region, which is close to the provincial border of Çankırı and has an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters. Archaeological sites and artifacts from the Ottoman period are seen in the region, which has been inhabited since ancient times. This region was called Semerözü in the Ottoman Period. Güldürcek Dam was built for flood protection and irrigation on the Kızılcahamam- Orta border. Devrez Stream, which has a length of 211 kilometres in the east-west direction, passes through Orta-Kurşunlu-Ilgaz districts and reaches Kızılırmak. Semer village is 44 kilometres away from Kızılcahamam district centre, and Orta town is 45 kilometres away. With its dense forest cover, the Semerözü region is suitable for trekking and tent camping.

Beynam Atatürk Forest

Beynam Atatürk Forest, located 50 km south of Ankara, near Ankara-Bâlâ Highway, is a residual forest with an area of 1,600 hectares of larch. Many wild animals of different species live in forest. There are 419 plant species and oak trees are also seen from place to place. The forest area is suitable for bird watching, hiking and photosafari.

Çıngırdaklı Cave

Situated in Oltan town of Ayaş and on the slope of Ankara Stream Valley, the cave is also known as Hamamboğazı. The cave can be reached via a dirt road from the Ayaş-Polatlı Highway. It is 60 m high from the Ankara River bed and 128 m deep. Carved in the Byzantine Period, the entrance of the cave was built with rubble stones. The cave contains remains of walls, windows, cistern and plenty of ceramic tiles. The rock steps that enable the cave to reach the valley can be seen in the surroundings.

Atatürk Arboretum

Atatürk Arboretum, which Çubuk Stream flows next to, is also known as Atatürk Garden. There are various flowers and trees in the park, which is landscaped and maintained by Keçiören Municipality. Morning sports and walking areas are available in the park area. The colourful landscape is worth seeing, especially in the spring, when the flowers bloom. The park is suitable for photo-safari.

Tekkedağı Natural Park

Tekkedağı Natural Park, located within the boundaries of the Beypazarı district, is predominantly covered with black pine forests. The understory vegetation includes hawthorn, wild pear, rowan, rosehip, as well as oak and juniper species. The area is rich in wildlife and provides habitat for species such as wild boar, wolves, foxes, and hares. In addition, herds of free-ranging horses and groups of cinereous vultures are observed in the region. The park offers opportunities for tent camping, scouting activities, hiking, nature photography, and stargazing, making it a suitable destination for nature-based recreation.
