Sarıyar Dam
The Sarıyar Dam, Turkey's first large hydroelectric power plant dam, is located on the Sakarya River near the town of Sarıyar, 25 km southeast of the district center of Nallıhan, 120 km northwest of Ankara. It takes its name from this town. It was built approximately 1.5 km behind the point where the Sakarya River changes its direction in a horseshoe-shaped curve, first from west to north and then back to west, in front of the village of Sarıyar. In addition to generating electricity, the dam also aims to protect settlements and agricultural lands in the 360-kilometer river valley up to the Black Sea from flooding. The Gökçekaya Dam, built in later years, also contributes to this regulation. The reservoir created by the dam is called the Sarıyar Hasan Polatkan Dam Lake. Fishing is practiced in the lake, which is home to various species of fish, and boat tours are organized. The fish caught here are exported. Nature walks and photo safaris are available in the surrounding area.

Uyuzsuyu Waterfall
On the northwest side of the Sarıçalı Mountain peak, there is a flat area covered with two acres of meadow. The healing water, which emerges from near the flat area at a temperature of 36°C, flows through the middle of the meadow, winding its way down to the stream bed from a height of 50-60 meters. The waterfall is worth seeing. In the middle of the meadow, there are a few pine trees believed to be very old. Starting from the village of Çulhalar and extending to the Ilıca Waterfall, you can enjoy a 6-7 hour nature walk and experience a happy exhaustion by tasting local dishes in the village of Karacasu.

Gökçekaya Dam
Located on the Sakarya River and 50 km away from the Sarıyar Dam, it was constructed for energy production. The Gökçekaya Dam area, which forms a narrow and steep valley, is 50 km long and 500 m wide. The village of Karahisarkozlu is located on its banks. The dam's surroundings are suitable for photo safaris and nature walks. There are forests and picnic areas around the dam.
