Fıslak (Egg Dessert)

Preparation
Water and sugar are combined in a pot and simmered for 10–15 minutes, then left to cool. For the batter, 1.5 cups of flour, half a packet of baking soda or baking powder, 3 eggs, and 1 cup of plain yogurt (runny consistency) are mixed to obtain a cake-like, slightly loose batter. The mixture is dropped into hot oil by the spoonful and fried. The cooled syrup is prepared in advance, and the fried pieces are placed into the syrup, allowing them to fully absorb it. After soaking thoroughly, they are transferred to a serving plate. Fıslak is traditionally prepared for religious nights.
