Overview
Yaşlı Ardıç Pond was built in Uzunlar Neighborhood, in the Akyurt district of Ankara, through a joint project by the Akyurt Municipality and the State Hydraulic Works (DSI). The operation, maintenance and management of the pond were transferred to the Akyurt Municipality. As of 2025, landscaping of the surrounding area, afforestation and the development of a recreation/mesire (picnic and leisure) area are still in the project planning stage. The existing pond area is suitable for nature observation, short hikes and outdoor photography
